Signpost has been carefully designed to offer features which none of its rivals can match. These include:

Intelligence:
Signpost uses complex 'decision-making' algorithms to determine the appropriate submissions for your web site. For example, if Signpost finds you have modified your submission it will automatically submit it to the edit form of the relevant directories. This system also ensures that Signpost can never submit your URL more than the allowed number of times to any individual resource.

Spidering your web page:
Signpost's spider, Monstro, will regularly visit your web page. If it finds a problem (i.e. not found, server error, etc.) it will e-mail you the details. If it detects a change to the page, it will schedule it for re-submission to the search engine spiders (assuming the minimum period allowed between submissions, for that engine, has elapsed).

Searching for your web page:
Signpost will regularly search for your web page at all of the promotional resources it submits to. When it finds your web site has been indexed by a particular resource, it will decrease the frequency of the searches at that resource. If, for some reason, your web page disappears from an index, Signpost will schedule it for re-submission.

Comprehensive submission capability:
Signpost doesn't just submit to submission forms. It also submits to edit forms, delete forms, search forms, and feedback forms.

Comprehensive progress reports:
If you wish, Signpost will e-mail you regular progress reports concerning your submission(s). These detail the dates and results of the most recent submissions and searches. You can see an example here.

Custom search engine:
Signpost's search engine has been designed and implemented specifically for Signpost. It uses a variant of the 'location/frequency' method of ranking results, so you can use it to assess the value of your keywords.

Custom directory:
Signpost's directory has also been designed specifically for Signpost. We believe it is important for us to have the experience of developing resources similar to those we submit to.
